Alonzo Bodden

Went to see Alonzo Boddon at the Arlington Cinema Draft House this past weekend. He wasn't bad, too bad the opening act was funnier than him. That's right I said it, Matt Kazam did an awesome job of warming up the crowd. His high energy and cross cultural comedy made everyone cry tears of laughter! He joked about getting rid of the whole mid west and just pushing the east and west coast together...we could go from DC to LA in 45 minutes! He also talked about how DC people could afford top dollar liquor like Patron and how all he could afford was Mescal (that has the worm on the bottom of the bottle, gross!) There was a lot more but you should go see him live and experience it because I wouldn't give him any justice! We were all kind of sad when he introduced Alonzo, even though he was funny too, his comedy was less high energy and more George Carlin style (sarcastic as hell) All in all it was a fun show, he told a joke about how Hispanics are becoming the next largest group and that wasn't good because it would mean February would become Hispanic History Month and all we would get is Cinco de Negro...I was dying! He also joked about how the up coming election would be hard for him because it was a white woman and a brother running, two things black men like...I was crying at this point. My second comedy show and I haven't been disappointed! Please don't mind the picture what can I say my camera phone was acting up that night so it's more of an abstract photo of me and Alonzo Boddon...I unfortunately didn't get to take a photo with Matt Kazam he was busy selling his cd's but I'll get him next time, Enjoy!

Finesse Mitchell

In an attempt to lively up my social calendar, last Friday I had the pleasure of seeing Finesse Mitchell Live at the Arlington Cinema "N' Draft house. Some of you might know him from SNL were he is famous for portraying a character named Starkeisha or from Comic View, or from Who's your Caddy where he was HILARIOUS and I became a FAN! If you haven't seen it you should watch it. Okay back to the show I would give it 5 stars. He started the show off by playing Kanye West's Welcome to the Good Life, then he joked about everything from Arlington's rampant gang violence to George W Bush and the internets to rolling napkins with his Mexican neighbor! I could not stop laughing the whole show. You know comics sometimes joke with their audience so did he, one audience member got a little to inebriated and ended up having to leave the show for his continuous participation and when he asked Finesse if he could stay he said yeah, then he goes but there making me leave and Finesse goes oh well then you have to go buddy...I was rolling! After the show was over me and the people I came with tried to wait and see if we could catch him inside but to our luck nothing so as we headed out the door...BAM there he is taking pictures and signing autographs I was shocked by his humbleness! I took a few pictures and when they didn't' come out right he was gracious enough to take more. Finesse Mitchell truly is a class act. Also a slight plug...those of you who don't know he also wrote a book called "Your Girlfriends Only Know So Much" a brothers take on dating and mating for sistas, get your copy ladies and enjoy the photos because he is a cutie!

Good Life

I know it's been awhile since I've written anything but I've been busy with work and school. I've got some good news to share, I recently turned in my frist exam for my bio medical ethics class...yah girl got an A-...Whooooyaaaaaa! This might not be a big deal for some people but it is for me and this is my blog so suck it! I was so excited I sent **Heathcliff a txt about my grade and he said " Good job chent how bout u inform others of your success on your neglected blog. I didn't know cotton pickers were so smart." Before you get mad at Heathcliff for his racist remarks let me just say he is cool peoples, I've known hm since middle school. I also woke my sister out of her sleep to let her know of my achievement and she mumbled..an A- might as well have gotten an B, she is a HATER from way back so that was expected. I know this is a short post but I have got to get back to work just wanted to share with everyone my good news and I will leave a song that has been on constant rotation in the Camary, Enjoy!
