Went to see Alonzo Boddon at the Arlington Cinema Draft House this past weekend. He wasn't bad, too bad the opening act was funnier than him. That's right I said it, Matt Kazam did an awesome job of warming up the crowd. His high energy and cross cultural comedy made everyone cry tears of laughter! He joked about getting rid of the whole mid west and just pushing the east and west coast together...we could go from DC to LA in 45 minutes! He also talked about how DC people could afford top dollar liquor like Patron and how all he could afford was Mescal (that has the worm on the bottom of the bottle, gross!) There was a lot more but you should go see him live and experience it because I wouldn't give him any justice! We were all kind of sad when he introduced Alonzo, even though he was funny too, his comedy was less high energy and more George Carlin style (sarcastic as hell) All in all it was a fun show, he told a joke about how Hispanics are becoming the next largest group and that wasn't good because it would mean February would become Hispanic History Month and all we would get is Cinco de Negro...I was dying! He also joked about how the up coming election would be hard for him because it was a white woman and a brother running, two things black men like...I was crying at this point. My second comedy show and I haven't been disappointed! Please don't mind the picture what can I say my camera phone was acting up that night so it's more of an abstract photo of me and Alonzo Boddon...I unfortunately didn't get to take a photo with Matt Kazam he was busy selling his cd's but I'll get him next time, Enjoy!
